Vacancy – Junior Accountant

MatchingVisions is currently looking for an Accountant to join the team.

As the junior accountant, you will:

Be based in our new modern premises in St Julians, Malta where you will be part of the accounting department to support the group operations to deliver on targets in line with our mission and vision.

Develop and maintain adequate internal controls to safeguard the Group’s assets and to ensure the internal and external financial reporting is prepared timely and is true and fair to support our business.

Be part of an excellent Finance team, working closely with Head of Finance, within a listed environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Accounting team: Part of the Accounting team within the Finance department participating in the monthly and yearly closing processes including keeping deadlines in accordance with the group financial plan.

Revenue Reporting: Be responsible for the extraction and analysis of revenue & KPI figures supporting the operations. Support Head of Finance to maintain complete and accurate revenue & KPI data through reconciliations. Also execute analysis and controls as needed to ensure there is no revenue leakage

Book-keeping: Responsible for the day-to-day book-keeping in Xero for the assigned tasks (mentioned below). Ensure book-keeping is in accordance with the applicable accounting standard.

Invoicing: Responsible for preparing and issuing invoices for the assigned partners on monthly basis. Moreover, on a quarterly basis responsible for reconciling deals on which revenue is calculated with agreements (on a sample basis).

Reconciliation of accounts: Ensuring all accounts within responsibility area are reconciled, have supporting documentation and “signed off” timely in accordance with monthly financial plan.

Debtors: Responsible for following up debtors for the partners assigned to ensure efficient debt collection.

Accounts Payables: Responsible for assigned accounts payables ledger meaning coordinating collection of invoices, ensuring group authorization policy is followed and payments are processed timely. Responsible for developing controls in purchase to pay process including ensuring authorization policy followed and duality implemented

Accruals and Prepayments: Responsible for accounting for accruals and prepayments at month end and monitoring accruals and prepayments during the year.

Bank reconciliations:  Responsible for performing bank reconciliations for the bank accounts/wallets assigned on a monthly basis.

Development projects: Participating and coordinating projects related to the finance department such as upgrading the finance system, mapping company processes, establishing financial guide, etc.
